There are several good options for excellent dining in Ripon all within 5 minutes driving distance, these include: Manchego, The Storehouse Kitchen, Marios, Valentinos and Realitea restaurants.
Manchego - In Ripon Centre
Distance - 5 minute Drive
This is a lovely cosy tapas restaurant, authentic and unique. Gets great reviews on trip adviser – you need to book.
When you don’t fancy a sit down meal, we often grab a pint from the pub, and take it to the Fish & Chip shops picnic table next door.
I mean does it get any better?
StoreHouse kitchen - In Ripon Centre
Distance - 5 minute Drive
A rather trendy place with fabulous food (lovely Sunday lunch too!), they have a bar too called Storehouse bar, on a different street, easy to get them mixed up. Both are wonderful. The bar serves tapas platters and flat breads.
They do a lovely brunch at weekends and open at 10.30am
They allow dogs in some areas of the restaurant too.
Vanora's Bakery / Tartine Lounge
Distance - 5 minute drive
This stunning artisan bakery has a secret little restaurant (they say simple food inspired by the bouchonnes of Lyon). You can order your specialist fresh breads, pastries and cakes online and collect them or join the queue (its worth it). They specialise in Sour dough breads but also do Fougasse, Foccacia – they also do sour dough workshops.
Marios - Ripon
Distance - 5 minute Drive
A no frills , small Italian restaurant, this is our favourite in Ripon for Pizza. The pizza and garlic bread pizza is stunning (lovely proper Italian thin bases). The pasta is also delicious, we have never had starters so cannot comment.
Valentinos - Ripon
Distance - 5 minute drive
Valentinos is bustling and always busy, they have a nicer wine selection here and the bruschetta, pizza (and calzone in particular) are delicious as are many pasta dishes.
Realitea - Ripon
Distance - 5 minute drive
Only open for hot Indian food at brunch / lunch time but the Indian food is delicious!
An Indian tea house offering Indian home cooked lunches (grandmas recipes), with Raj high tea and all home made cakes from Indian Grannies recipes (mango and cardamon cake is to die for!) to English classics like Victoria sponge. It is 100% worth a trip – pre book afternoon tea or arrive at 11/12 noon before they sell out.
